The Best Cashback Sites To Earn You Money

I am a big fan of side hustles but sometimes you need other ways to earn cash. Cashback sites are one of the best ways out there to earn a bit of extra money just doing online shopping you would be doing anyway.

We all love a bit of retail therapy. It seems that these days it is more appealing to do it at home while sitting in your pj’s on your sofa. Who wants to go out and converse with people anyway, when I can just place an order online, and have my purchase on my doorstep the very next day.

Some of my posts may contain affiliate links. This simply means if you purchase something after clicking one of the links I may receive a commission at no extra cost to yourself. Many thanks for the continued support.

There are various cashback sites out there and you can use one or all of them it doesn’t really matter. But what are the best cashback sites and which ones should I use? The one I use the most is Quidco

I will, however, provide you with several links to the best cashback sites a bit further on in this article.

Throughout the year I will buy gifts online for peoples birthdays or weddings and other such occasions. Sometimes usually about once a year or so, I will revisit my energy supplier or car insurance company and shop around online to get the best deal.

All of these things can be done through the best cashback sites and you can earn money by doing it. Usually, for me, this ends up with me having around £150 at the end of the year.

I can use this money towards Christmas which as I’m sure you will all agree can be extra expensive. That is how I would suggest you use cashback sites. Withdraw the money every time you reach the payout threshold. You can then store it in a spare bank account, that way you earn a little interest on it and then use it around Christmas time.

The Basics Of Cashback Sites

Ok so if you are looking to buy a gift online or you need to change your home insurance or your energy supplier then normally you would go to the particular site you need and carry out your request. In this instance, you would go to the cashback site.

Type in the name of the site you wish to go to in order to carry out the said purchase, and then the cashback site will redirect you there and saves your visit. When you make your purchase or search the cashback site tracks this and they will then will pay you accordingly.

Some payments will be a percentage of the purchase made and others will be a flat rate. I have always found that swapping my car insurance to a cheaper deal usually ends up with me getting £50 upwards as cashback so a real win-win situation.

How Quickly Do I Get Paid

This can vary and the correct answer is It depends. With Quidco, they will track your purchases, and then usually when you are looking at the site you want to visit on Quidco it will have a timescale for the purchase to be tracked which is usually anywhere between 3-4 hours or 3 days.

Then it will give you an estimate on your payment speed which could be anywhere between 7 days-12 weeks. It really is as vague as that. Even the best cashback sites can take some time to verify the purchases.

My advice would be to not get bogged down with how long it will take to get paid. Just enjoy the fact you’re getting money for making a purchase you would have made regardless.

Cashback Sites Problems!

Occasionally there are problems with cashback sites and the retailers that they are working with. It is only fair that I mention this as it does happen and has happened to me. You have made that expensive purchase and look a few days later to see that the 5% cashback you were expecting has either, not been tracked, or has been tracked but no payment date and still weeks later nothing has arrived.

What you, the consumer have to bear in mind is that there are three parties in these transactions. There is you, the customer, the cashback sites and the retailer. Sometimes there are discrepancies that make one of the parties not want to make payment. It happens, and there isn’t a lot you can do about it apart from contacting the cashback site and lodging a complaint. But it is something to bear in mind. Keep track of your tracked purchases.

Tips

Never keep your cash in a cashback site as there are no back-ups if the site goes bust or if something happens to your money. You won’t have the same protection that you do with your bank account. I Usually make 3 withdrawals per year so once every 4 months or so to make sure nothing happens to the cashback I have earned.

Always clear cookies and cache before a new session. This is the same way as looking for holidays on 2 separate computers without clearing the cache. This drives the prices up. Doing this with a cashback site can see your potential cashback deals going down in value.

Not all the deals are as good as they first seem. You may be offered £50 cashback for swapping your car insurance cover, but make sure that firstly, you are saving on your car insurance and not paying more. Secondly try looking at other insurance comparison sites, because if there is one that is more than £50 a year cheaper then you are not really saving.

Remember the simple things. You wouldn’t think twice to do your weekly food shop from Tesco or Morrisons online these days, but if you do it through a cashback site first then more often than not you can get some cashback. Usually, more than you have paid for the delivery so it makes sense.

Which Cashback Sites?

So which of the best cashback sites do I use then? This part is really up to you. I would stick with the 2 biggest and most trusted sites out there which are Quidco and Topcashback. You can always use both.

These two are the biggest and not only that but they will match any other cashback sites deals. This is why I am a member of both. If I can’t find a good cashback deal on one of the sites I go straight to the other one.

Top Cashback

Topcashback is one of the best cashback sites out there and has a free membership and a plus membership for a small fee. They start you off on the plus membership for a month. (Use this time wisely and make any purchases you may have been putting off). Just remember that if you dont cancel at the end of the month you will then be charged an annual fee of £5 out of your earnings.

For me, it is probably worth staying on the plus membership as you could easily make that £5 fee in one month. If you look around there are some great free offers as well. (At the time of writing) signing up for My Gold Surveys, which is a survey site (more on them at a later date) just for signing up you will receive £4.20.

Working my way through the free offers I made over £50 in a short space of time. Not only that but they are currently offering £20 for referring a friend.

Quidco

Ive been a member of Quidco for some years now and for me, this beats the other cashback sites hands down. Of course, this may differ for you. It’s free to sign up and start earning money.

They have all their different categories at the top of the page and is really easy to navigate. Also, there are “ways to earn” category’s which will help when you first start. They too offer a refer a friend scheme. Try both these sites and see which one works best for you.

The Best Cashback Sites To Earn You Money

If you are looking to sign up with either cashback site I have mentioned above, then feel free to go through these links.

I will earn a small commission when you reach your first five pounds in cashback which could well be in your first visit. I would be most appreciative. Thanks for reading, now get out there, join up and earn that Christmas cash!.
