Spendee is the new budget and expense tracker and planner app which is making headlines. I have had a bit of a play and I am going to let you know how this wonderful little budget planner app can transform the way you view your finances.
I’m what you would call an uber cautious person. I am extremely careful when it comes to giving out personal information. I am also wary of any kind of mobile app that needs any of my personal details. On the flip side, I love saving and making money.
When it comes to saving money any app that is going to help me do that I need to investigate and that is exactly what I did with the Spendee app.
I am not the type of person to go spending as soon as my wages drop into my bank account. Like many of you reading this I’m sure there has been the time when you have checked your account and wondered why there is a payment to some random company for £20.
This happens to me all the time and it usually takes 15 minutes of detective work before realizing it was me making a super impulsive purchase of men’s moisturizer (That’s our little secret). Spendee allows you to track your finances much more closely from the convenience of your mobile phone.
This makes it much easier to keep track of all the little contactless payments you make throughout the week. Those always creep up on me.
What Is Spendee?
Spendee is a Personal finance app that allows you to track your finances on the go. You can track both your income and your expenses at the touch of a button. This makes it that much easier to control your spending (Should that be what you would like to do).
It is available to download on both the google play store and the apple app store. You can connect your bank account via syncing. Then you can analyze your finances and if need be set up budgets and savings.
Having all your money in one place makes it super easy to track where your money goes each month. There is an option to also create shared wallets with members of your family if you are working towards savings or a tight budget.
That way your wife can track and see if you have spent any of that month’s budget in the pub! (I’m not selling this am I?)
You can go in and edit all the categories for spending and also set budgets for each individual category. This lets you know when your spending is nearing its limit.
There is also a utility bill tracker. This can let you know when the utility bills are due and therefore never forget to pay them. With such a wide range of tools in one handy app, you can get a really good grip on your finances and save both time and stress.
Spendee also deals with multiple currencies. This is super handy for when you are traveling and saves you having to use currency converters to see how much you have left in the pot for spending while on holiday.
Should you be up to date on all your digital knowledge there also happens to be an option to connect your Ewallet. Not only that but also your Crypto wallet should you happen to have any Cryptocurrency investments.
With Cryptocurrency investment and purchases on the rise, it seems like Spendee has spotted that trend and made it a part of their app. That seems like smart work to me.
How To Sign Up For Spendee
First things first you need to download the app from the store. This is as straightforward as downloading any other app. When it is complete you will get the chance to open it and sign up.
The signup process will require you to enter your email address and password as well as some personal information. This is all safe and normal.
There is also the option to sign up via your Google account. Pretty handy if you ask me as this will save you some time entering details.
When you sign up you will receive a welcome email from Spendee. This will give you some tips and tricks to get started. It will also give you information on how to connect your bank accounts seamlessly.
Once you have connected your bank account you will be able to see past transactions almost immediately which means you can begin using your app to get used to tracking your finances and working out how it all works.

Questions & Answers:
Is spendee secure?
Yes, Spendee uses bank-level encryption to make sure all your details and financial information are kept secret. If you trust your bank to keep your details safe then Spendee has the same protection too.
If you delete the app, Spendee deletes all of your personal information. This information is never kept or stored once you delete your account
Is Spendee Free?
Yes and no. Spendee has 3 price points, the first is the free option which is perfectly good and will still help you to track your finances. The only thing is you are limited to creating only 1 budget and you cannot sync your bank account as well as limiting you with regards to shared wallets. It is still a great tool even when free.
The other 2 price points are Plus which gives you unlimited budgets and wallets as well as shared wallets and Premium which is the same but with bank account sync and automatic categories.
The cheapest ways to do those 2 categories is to pay per year and it is $14.99 and $22.99 respectively. If you prefer you can pay monthly and it is $1.99 and $2.99 a month respectively.
Is Spendee Easy To Use?
I have used a few personal finance apps and have found some to be a bit clunky in operation and others with the user interface all over the place making it difficult to use. Spendee, however, is very simple to use and once set up it requires minimal effort from you the user to keep it ticking over.
Is This The Only Personal Finance App?
No there are plenty more around, I havent come across many that have the functionality of Spendee but the one that comes close and has had way more downloads is Mint (Review coming soon).
Does The App Have Ads?
Unfortunately yes it does. Most apps these days no matter the target audience have ads and in-app purchases. There is not a lot you can do about that although the paid versions usually allow you to disable the ads.
Those were just some of the questions I have seen regarding Spendee. I would highly recommend the app as I have used it for a few weeks and it is easy to use, fairly intuitive and anything that helps me keep control of my finances is a bonus for me. Try it for yourself here.
