I think we could all do with a bit extra Christmas cash. Dont get me wrong, I love Christmas, Pretty much everything about it makes me happy. From the decorations to the Christmas films on the tv to all the glorious food and drink.
The one thing that does threaten to dampen the mood for most of us though at some point leading up to the Christmas period is the amount of money to be spent.
No matter how much we say we are going to have a lean Christmas I think nearly every single one of us spends more than we should.
This is the sole reason why I have been using side hustles in the build-up to every Christmas for the last 10 years or so. This makes sure I have a couple of hundred extra pounds to help pay for all the lovely things. My Christmas money making ideas are all easy and quick to implement.
Dont let a lack of money in the run-up to the festive period cause you any added stress. Let’s face it as much as we do love it, it can be stressful finding and wrapping gifts as well as doing traveling etc over the festive period. Let the money be one less thing to worry about.
Below I’m going to list some of the tried and tested ways I have used to gather some quick Christmas cash for the holidays.
Oh My Dosh:
Oh My Dosh is an offers site that is free to sign up to. You simply sign up and then complete a series of offers. This can be signing up for free website trials or completing surveys for extra rewards.
I signed up to Oh My Dosh a few weeks back. I found I was able to make £40 profit in the space of one weekend. It took me all told around 2-3 hours. If after that you feel you want to continue earning money then there are plenty more offers to choose from. Should you wish to stop the offers then you will still have a nice bit of profit for Christmas.
If you want to read more about how Oh My Dosh works then read my post which goes into further detail.

Hey, Dont run away! Listen Matched betting does not involve you placing bets like you normally would. It is a way of extracting online bookmaker bonuses to gain maximum profit.
Believe me when I say that Matched betting is pretty much the best side hustle out there at the moment. Even with me being pretty lazy when it comes to matched betting as I’m always working on this blog, I am still bringing in an extra £200 per month.
You do need a little cash to start with and you should really start this ideally 2 months before Christmas. You could if you started in December make £200 profit very easily.
Most people use a matched betting service such as Profit accumulator. I use their services and they are very good. If you still are not sure and dont want to commit I understand. However, Profit Accumulator offers a free trial where they will walk you through the first 2 matched bets and you will make roughly £40 profit.
If you still are not sure after that then you can walk away with your earnings. I’m pretty sure you would stick around though.
Hosting students is something my wife and I did for a number of years when we first brought our house. We knew mortgage payments would be a bit tight and so we hosted students in one of our spare bedrooms to make extra cash.
If you live in or near a city then there is most likely a language school near you and they will be able to let you know if they need any host families.
The positives are great. The amount you can earn is great. It doesn’t take much effort and you can also get to interact with new people and potentially learn some foreign language while you are at it.
The run-up to the Christmas period isn’t great for students. I would say this is perhaps one that needs to be done earlier in the year. If you have a spare room and can get a bunk bed in the room then hosting students can bring you in an extra £300-500 per month depending on a few variables.
Sell Your Old Junk:
Your old junk might be someone else’s treasure. The good thing with this is you get to accomplish two things in one. Firstly you get to have a bit of a clear out of your house and make things a bit tidier. Secondly, you get to make a bit of spare cash to put in your Christmas fund.
eBay is my go-to when I’m looking to sell stuff but if you can be bothered with the hassle of listing then perhaps you could try Shpock which is a local website that allows you to buy and sell very quickly and it can all be done on the Shpock app on your phone.
Just having a quick look through your house can be surprising. Yes old DVDs might only bag you £1-2 however when you have sold 10 of them and then also sold an old iPhone some video games and an unused Blender, Well you get the picture. If you can spend a Saturday having a good clear out at home and then sell on the following week you should be able to add a good amount to your Christmas fund.
20 Cogs, Weird name right? Well, 20 cogs is another survey/offers site. It actually stands for Competitions/Offers/Games/Surveys. Once you have signed up you get a £5 bonus straight away.
You work through the offers and surveys etc picking up cash rewards as you go. Each task you complete lights up a cog. When you get to 20 cogs you can withdraw your money.
Once you have got to 20 cogs you should have anywhere between £150-200. You can also refer friends and receive 5% of their earnings as well as a small bonus when they hit 20 cogs.
Earning that amount can come quite quickly and it should take more than a couple of weekends to get it completed. Then you can carry on after completing the 20 cogs but that is what it takes to be able to withdraw your earnings.

Swagbucks is quite well known and a great little way to earn some extra Christmas cash. Once you have finished your Swagbucks sign up you are free to have a look around and explore the site.
Swagbucks is another rewards site but one of the biggest ones out at the moment. There will be a Swagbucks review going up on my blog soon if you wish to read it. However, once you have finished with your Swagbucks sign up you can see for yourself how good the site is.
Here are some of the ways you can earn extra money for Christmas using Swagbucks.
Coupons and cashback. You can save money using coupons and also earn cashback when shopping online via Swagbucks. Once you have a set amount of swagbucks you can exchange them for gift cards which comes in really handy just before Christmas.
Watching Videos. This happens to be one of my favorites and is easy to complete and earn while just chilling on the sofa.
Swagcodes are another good way to bump up your Swagbucks. Swagcodes are little snippets of code hidden throughout the site. Not only that but they can also be hidden in places like Twitter. All you have do is find them. The Swagbucks blog, facebook, and twitter are good places to check for these Swagcodes and this can seriously help boost the amount you earn.

Working In Retail
I know it sounds obvious but getting a part-time job working in retail to boost your cash for Christmas is the ideal way to make Christmas easier. In the build-up to Christmas, the need for extra retail assistants in all manner of shops and outlets increases 10 fold.
In fact, this is one of the best ways to make quick Christmas cash.
You usually will find that the job is just for part of November and most of December. If you are out of work or have got reduced hours at your normal job then this is perfect. The pay is going to be average but there will usually be as many hours as you need as stores tend to stay open late near the holiday period.
The way to find them is easy too. Just take a walk around your local shopping mall and you will see adverts for help. Facebook is another good one if you belong to one of the facebook groups for your local area.
I hope that whatever you decide to do you earn lots of extra cash and enjoy a lovely family Christmas and go into the new year feeling refreshed.
