Is Pointsprizes Legit My Review Of The Rewards Site
I’m going to let you in on a little secret, I love rewards sites. If you mix and match with a few rewards sites then there is the potential to make a good little second income or at the very least make sure you have enough gift cards to treat everyone to a very festive Christmas and save yourself a few pennies.
The problem with rewards sites is that there are so many to choose from and a very large amount of them are either at best a bit spammy or at worst a downright scam.
So with that being said, I am kind of making it my business to investigate and review the ones I have tried and have had the first-hand experience with in order to weed out the scam sites and leave you with reviews of the really good rewards sites.
Pointsprizes was one I tried back at the beginning of the year and what follows is my Pointsprizes review and I hope to answer the question of is Pointsprizes legit?
What Is Pointsprizes?
Well as you have probably worked out from above Pointsprizes is a rewards site that was founded in 2016, The very fact that it has been around for over 5 years is a good sign to start off with.
Like most rewards sites Pointsprizes rewards you the member in points for doing a variety of tasks. Carrying out paid and trial offers, completing various paid surveys, watching videos and entering online sweepstakes/competitions.
Although the name is a bit misleading as it leads you to believe that you can only win prizes, The great news is that you can earn points with which you can swap for gift cards. Everyone loves a gift card and you can earn some from a whole host of some of your favourite places.
All you need to sign up and register for Points prizes is an email address. As with a lot of these rewards sites I recommend that you use a new email address and not your everyday email as sometimes these sites can spam you with more than one email a day which can be annoying.
Get a seperate email address then once a day log in and delete anything you don’t see that’s of value.
Pointsprizes is a very nice site with a great user interface. Nothing complicated or fussy just a nice clean easy to use interface which is just what you want. not too in your face and easy to navigate.
Essentially all you need to do is right there on the screen. Find offers and complete them for points to go towards gift cards.
How Does Pointsprizes work?
Pointsprizes is possibly one of the easiest rewards sites I think I have come across yet. All you have on the home screen is 3 tabs. Balance, Earn and rewards. Simple right?, Balance tells you how many points you have, earn takes you to the network screen, More on that in a minute and rewards takes you to the best place on the site. The place where you pick out your rewards.
Once you have signed up with just your email, with No name or phone number required, you should navigate to the earn screen. The earn screen then shows you a load of icons for networks. All you need to do is to choose a network that will then open up all the offers that particular network has to offer. Don’t like what you see simply choose a different network.
When you open up the network of your choice you will see a variety of offers in no particular order. Each offer will have a point value to the right of it letting you know how many points you will receive upon completion of this offer.
In the top action bar, you will see that you can narrow down the choice of the offer by selecting specific categories such as mobile apps, Desktop, Surveys and quick. I always like to smash my way through the quick offers, Although they will have fewer points attributed to them I prefer them as I can do several in quick succession.
So the rewards section is my favourite and I’m pretty sure it is going to be yours too. The rewards section is where you can browse all of the rewards that are available and also how many points it takes for you to be able to redeem the rewards you would like.
As you can see from the above image there are quite a few options available and this is only about half the options that are on the rewards site.
Itunes, Amazon and Paypal are probably the most popular, Well at least they are for me. Once you click on a prize or reward you will see how many points are needed to get the gift card in various denominations.
As you can see from above it takes 1000 points to claim a $10 gift card for Amazon and 5000 Points to claim a $50 one.
How To Make A Claim?
Here is what Pointsprizes have to say about making a claim. “Once you make a claim, your gift code will be emailed to you immediately. Please check the details of your claim carefully, including the currency. Some codes may only be valid in the United States, or the currency specified, and it is your responsibility to check that before making a claim. All claims are final and no refunds will be granted under any circumstances“.
Making a claim is pretty easy once you have the right amount of points just click on the redeem offer for the right prize you want to claim and read the instructions clearly.
Tips For Rewards Sites
I have used several rewards sites over the years and have some very good methods for making sure that you get the most from them without getting harrassed by any spam or unwanted ads etc.
TIP 1: Always use a new email address you have created specifically for this rewards site. That way when they send you spam which they will it just goes neatly into your spam folder and none of it gets mixed up with your regular emails. Trust me you don’t want this to happen.
TIP 2: Read any instructions clearly, If you need to read them twice then do so, I have been caught out on a number of occasions because I am rushing and have made mistakes.
TIP 3: If you do any trial period offers that usually give great points, by the way, make sure to note when the trial ends. I usually make a note on my phone with a reminder set a couple of days before so I can cancel and not get charged.
TIP 4: Have a way of keeping track of the trials and offers you do, I like to use google docs to keep track and then once every couple of days I can go in and remind myself of what offers I have done plus ones I’m currently in the middle of completing.
Surveys are the most common type of offer available on Pointsprizes. If you have not ever done surveys before though or simply need some refreshing let me help.
Surveys are easy enough to do but can be frustrating at times. A lot of surveys require that you fill out some basic questions before starting and this can become quite repetitive. I use a chrome app that auto-fills these questions with my answers which can save you some time.
You may find that you can also get halfway through a survey and then suddenly be kicked off it. This may be because you were answering too generically and rushing to get through it.
Try and answer each question to the best of your ability. Personally, for me, I find the points on offer for surveys are a little on the low side and I would prefer to use dedicated Survey sites that pay money to your Paypal. You can earn more doing them this way I feel.
Still if you are just looking to earn some points then it is a fun and safe way to do so.
I am a long time comper (Competition Entrant) and have had a fair bit of experience and luck in Winning competitions.
It is primarily a numbers game, Ie the more competitions you enter the better your chances of winning, In my pomp, I was entering around 125 competitions per day. There are some things you need to be aware of though.
Number one like above always use a separate email address, try and get a cheap pay as you go phone, Record an answer message on it then keep it switched off and only turn it on once every couple of days to check for winning messages.
Also, be super aware of any opt-out tick boxes. They always try and catch you out by swapping between ticking for no emails or ticking to receive them so make sure you read it properly.
Entering competitions and sweepstakes though is a good way of getting a great prize if you carry the sort of luck I did, You won’t find enough on Pointsprizes to enter over 100 a day like I did but you will find quite a few and if your lucky you may get a win or two.
I’m going to be honest with you here, I only do referrals for sites like these from time to time and only because I have a blog that gets thousands of views per month. If you don’t have your own blog or website I really wouldn’t bother wasting your time.
The referral commission is currently set at 50% which means you get 50% of the points your referral does. The problem is that people soon get bored with sites like these so unless your friend is super enthusiastic or you have a blog or Youtube channel I would not even worry about spending your time on this.
However, if you are reading this and fancy signing up through my link then it is always appreciated. Here is the referral link.
Is Pointsprizes Legit My Review Of The Rewards Site
So the old age question of is Pointsprizes legit? I would say yes. On Trustpilot, the site gets a score of 4.4 with over 2300 reviews at the time of writing this article.
This in itself is a pretty good reason to trust this site, as with this many reviews and a score well above average this shows when it comes to is Pointsprizes legit then yes it would appear so.
On the Play store for Android, the site has 11927 reviews and is averaging 4 stars. So whilst not perfect I think you could say the site is legit. There may be the odd occasion when someone struggles to make a claim but I would challenge this and suggest that a lot of the time it is human error that leads to such issues.
If you are looking to make a second income then I would suggest looking elsewhere, This is going to be nothing more than a few gift cards of £20 or so that you can use to buy gifts for Birthdays or Christmas.
With that being said if you are just sitting at home bored or have a cheeky hour or so to burn while at work then this could be ideal to make sure that come Christmas time you have ample gift cards to get people gifts with and save yourself some money.
Is Pointsprizes legit? yes, Jump in and take a look for yourself.
