There’s no easy way around this, sometimes the motivation to side-hustle just isn’t there. It is strange seeing as you are doing it primarily to earn money. Whether you like to admit it or not earning money is a key goal in life. Having good side-hustles makes sure this is achievable.
The side-hustle that I do find I lack motivation for some days is Matched Betting. If you are not sure what that is, have a look at my guide here. To be fair it is relatively easy. All I need to do is spend maybe 20-30 mins most evenings and maybe an hour on a Saturday morning for me to be able to make £200-£500 a month.
The issue I have is that in the evenings after work I tend to go for a run to keep up my fitness. Also, I’m the chef of the household so I then come home, shower and cook the evening dinner. By the time all of this is done all I want to do is relax with my wife for a couple of hours not reach for the laptop.
The other issue I have is that on a Saturday morning which is when you can usually make a good amount of profit on Matched Betting I usually write this blog. At least for the morning which coincides with when I would usually place my Matched Bets.
There are however some easy and simple ways with which you can give yourself more motivation to do your side-hustles and make that extra cash each week or month. Whether it is Matched Betting or blogging or simply doing some gardening for the local neighbors, gaining fresh motivation is always going to help you achieve that extra cash and not miss out because you’re lacking that motivation.
Setting goals works well in all walks of life but with doing your side-hustles it can be as easy as you want to make it.
With Blogging, for example, I set goals I would like to reach by the end of each month. I also set goals with regards to how long I spend writing posts and scheduling pins on Pinterest, etc. If you are struggling to visualize any of that then have a look at my blog income and growth reports here to see the goals I set myself.
Whether you reach the goals you set or not is not the most important thing. The most important thing is that you set those goals and then work hard towards them. You will always achieve more by setting goals and working towards them than not getting any at all.
Purchases From Side-Hustles
Hey, look none of us are side hustling because it is an enjoyable way to spend your free time. You would rather be with your family or friends enjoying life. But the one thing we are all doing when we side hustle is to create either a little or a lot of extra money and this is why we need to have future purchases in mind.
It could be a new car or a bathroom. It could be smaller less expensive items like a new laptop or pair of shoes. We all have different purchases in mind. It can really help to have one written down somewhere. Preferably where you can look up at it when you are low on motivation and realize why you are doing whatever side hustle you are doing at that particular time.
Have A Bad Day At The Office
Sounds a bit weird doesn’t it. However, having a bad day at the office can really help you get focused on your side-hustle. It’s true that not all side hustles lead to a full-time gig where you can quit your 9-5 and live your life on a beach. However, nothing makes you work harder towards that life than a rubbish day at work.
It only took me 2 bad days in one week to start this blog. Sure it may not lead to me quitting my job. What it does do is takes my mind off a rubbish day and helping others earn extra money and brighten their days slightly makes me happy. On the flip side, it may just earn me a bit more money to help those bad days feel better.
You probably see Motivational quotes all the time while scrolling through Facebook or Instagram. I bet you don’t really pay too much attention to them.
On a day when you just dont have any motivation to start or continue one of your side-hustles, these can really help.
Below I have added some of my favorite money/job motivational quotes. These inspire me to continue with any one of my side-hustles after a long day. Especially when I dont feel in the mood.
1: “The only difference between a rich person and a poor person is how they use their time” —Robert Kiyosaki
2: “Today the greatest single source of wealth is between your ears.” —Brian Tracy
3: “Every day is a bank account, and time is our currency. No one is rich, no one is poor, we’ve got 24 hours each.” —Christopher Rice
4: “Persist – don’t take no for an answer. If you’re happy to sit at your desk and not take any risk, you’ll be sitting at your desk for the next 20 years.”
5: “Wealth is not about having a lot of money; it’s about having a lot of options.”
You can see these quotes and more on the following two sites I use a lot to get motivational quotes.
We all need to have some savings. Whether its a rainy day fund or a holiday fund or being invested for your future. I believe that most people today should have £1000 in savings just in case the worst happens.
Savings are important. Not only that but the fact that most of us need to earn a little extra in order to be able to start saving should be enough to get you off your backside and out doing your favorite side-hustle.
I admit that getting cracking with your side-hustles is easier when your saving for that week away in Dubai as opposed to just saving for saving’s sake but it is high on my list of things to do.
Good luck with your side-hustles. I hope this article has given you some ideas on how to gain fresh motivation to get out there and start earning extra cash. If you are struggling for side hustles then feel free to visit my Top 10 side hustles here.
