Comping which is the collective name for entering competitions is the process of entering countless competitions on a daily basis in the hope that you will win big and win a holiday or car or large sum of cash.
The great thing about comping is all you need is access to the internet and a couple of spare hours per evening.
I have tried this myself and although I have not won big I have won gift vouchers and some tv box sets on Blu Ray.
The main reason I
Please remember though that winning is not guaranteed. It can be time-consuming but also quite good fun. If you search around there are plenty of comping groups you can join and a very friendly community of compers. Most of who can help you with any issues you may have.
So below I’m going to give you some great tips to get started. Hopefully, with a little more effort on your part, you can get better prizes than me. You never know maybe you can secure that dream 2-week vacation in the sun.
How To Get Started
One of the first things you are going to need to do before you enter your first competition is to open up a free email account. Now you could always use your main email account, however, I would advise against it as some of the competitions need you to sign up for their email list. If you are entering 40
My advice would be to
So again a lot of competitions will require a contact number so they can call you if you win. Similar to the emails though they will sometimes call you anyway and try and sell stuff etc. Not something you want when you’re busy at work.
My advice is to buy a small pay as you go phone for like £10. Place an answerphone message on it so a company can tell
You could also purchase a pay as you go sim card. Simply swap it with your main sim to check for winning messages. This is not what I did but it is an option.
Tips To Increase Your Chances
Dont enter any old competition just because it’s easy. Be honest with yourself. Yes, it might have only taken you 2 minutes of your evening but do you really want to go to that Cliff Richard concert (I’m sure your nan would).
Go after the stuff you really want, tickets to gigs you would love, That new car, the all-inclusive holiday. Or the cash prizes.
The more effort you have to put into a competition the fewer people will enter hence increasing your chances of a win. If you only have to put your name and email address then the chances are you will be up against a hundred thousand or more entries.
If the competition needs you to write a short poem or story or take a photo then
Whatever browser you are using there should be, within the settings an option to remember the details you enter into any online forms. Simply enter your new email address and phone number along with your full name.
Once that is done you should then be prompted the next time, and with the swift click of a button, your details will enter themselves into the appropriate boxes.
When entering more than 25-30 competitions a day you will soon see how much of a time saver this is. In Chrome under settings, then “addresses and more” there is the option to save the details.
Where To Find The Competitions
Everywhere is the main answer to that question. I started out doing mine via www.moneysavingexpert.com
They have a friendly forum over there and they will help you get started. P.S I got my first winning entry from that forum too. It gets
The other place I try a lot is social media. All
Twitter is the easiest as usually you just have to retweet and follow to be entered. Go onto facebook and just type competition into the search bar and up pop a few groups dedicated to
Again much like the practice of having a new account for email and also a new contact number you may want to have a new Twitter or Instagram account. Facebook is more difficult as you can’t have 2 accounts and could be banned.
Do Not Pay:
Do not pay to join a site, ever. Dont do it as it isn’t worth it when there are so many free competitions out there.
Check that junk mail/spam folder. A few of the companies you are trying to win something from are likely to go straight to your spam folder. Make sure to check it in case a win has slipped through the net. Dont want to miss that amazing holiday you won.
You dont even have to pay (no dont steal them) I mean simply if you’re wondering through the supermarket picking up some groceries pick up a magazine and leaf through it and if there are some good competitions simply snap them with your phone and do them later. Remember to put that magazine back!!!.
With the number of sites you will be going on and links you will be following it makes sense to make sure your antivirus is bang up to date.
If you dont have an antivirus program you can get free antivirus programs that do the same thing as the well-known ones such as Mcafee and Norton.
Windows defender and AVG are two of the better-known ones and I have used window defender and its pretty good.
So remember the more competitions you enter the more chance you have of winning. It ranges from about 1 win in 100 to 1 win in 1000. If you’re entering 100 competitions a day this means you should win something every 10 days on average but maybe aim for one win per month to start and work up from there.
Good luck and please let me know in the comments section if you have tried comping and or if you have had any good wins.
